MEET ANDREA KENNEDY
I'm a regular person, like most people
and you might even say I am ‘mainstream.’ Having earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics, I was initially deeply skeptical of the idea of energy healing. My logical and scientific mind struggled to reconcile how a mysterious unseen force could create actual physical healing among other benefits.

It was my beloved Aunt Eva, a vibrant and magnetic woman, who invited me to learn Reiki Level One in 1995. I took the leap out of pure curiosity. However, I didn’t feel that anything worth noting happened in the class or from the attunement. I practiced on others who reported it working but I struggled since I felt nothing. I didn’t have anyone near me to discuss, practice and share insights with after my class, and as a result, my practice waned.

The Path Unfolds:
Four years later, on a pivotal trip to Egypt, I had a profound experience and my interest in Reiki was reignited. I received clarity and a message about my purpose that was unmistakable. Returning home, I made continuing my Reiki training a priority. I received my Reiki Master certificate in 1999. As I practiced, I opened up to trust the energy and let go of my analytical approach. Through my experiences, my understanding of Reiki deepened. My personal practice grew into volunteering Reiki followed by offering professional Reiki sessions.
Inspired by my experiences, I felt a calling to share Reiki with others through teaching. I realized the potential of Reiki to transform lives for the better. My goal became clear: to educate and demonstrate that Reiki is accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, and bring it further into the ‘mainstream’ as a widely-recognized, effective, ethical, and accepted complementary therapy.

After nearly 20 years of teaching, I expanded upon my goal to help in a new way. I had seen a consistent lack of places where Reiki people could connect with like-minded people in powerful ways. The importance of a supportive community and forum to share experiences and learn from one another remained a need. I wanted to ensure that my Reiki students, and all Reiki students, had a place to succeed after taking their classes. The creation of the Mainstream Reiki Community provides opportunities to practice Reiki with others, and continue learning with resources and mentorship where we can grow and evolve.
Today, as a leading figure with regard to Reiki, I teach Reiki classes, mentor Reiki people in an online membership community, host a popular spiritual podcast, and offer free Reiki sessions and educational content on a thriving YouTube channel. My ultimate mission? To bring the benefits of Reiki to people worldwide, empowering them to live better lives.
